Koraidon and Miraidon were meant to be Rock/Dragon and Steel/Dragon

There was a Steel GL instead of an Ice one

The Paradox Donphan Titan was initially an Ice Titan

They were intending to give Protag & Rivals the sub legendaries (?!)

Guardian sb Legendary quadruplet

▼Story Theme: "Treasure"

The overall theme of the work is "Paradise."

Within this, the story's theme is "Treasure."

- Something precious

- Something you search for

- Something you want to protect

Etc.

It's very difficult to live while protecting the things you hold dear.

We live in a world where it's easier to live by common sense and rules than to stick to your own feelings and will.

It's precisely because of this world that I wanted to create a game in which players can find and protect what's important to them.

This game challenges players to experience living freely, unconstrained by common sense, and breaking away from the rules for the sake of what's important to them.

I want players to discover the truth for themselves and live life true to themselves, without being bound by common sense.

I want players to think and act freely (openly) about everything, rather than following conventional wisdom that follows a set pattern, and find their own individuality.

The courage to push through their own opinions without fear of criticism.

Through this work, I want to convey that there are things inside of you that are important to you, and to act according to their own thoughts, even if they clash with common sense.

This is a story about various people who face various obstacles and overcome them.

It's a story about fighting common sense for the sake of what's important.

After completing this game,

you might be able to tell your friends how you really feel.

You might be able to tell your boss that something is wrong.

You might even be able to confess your feelings to someone you like.

I believe in the power of games,

and, however exaggerated, I want to create a game that will help everyone who plays it find what's important to them,

giving them a little courage to make tomorrow just a little better.

*The contrast between "on the rails" and "open" is used as a game element in the story.

*School: A life that follows the rails. Exams. Career advancement. A life that gives you a sense of security. But is that really the right thing to do?

*Mysterious Island: Open, you get off the rails and have to think for your own path. You have to make your own path.

*Match the gameplay and the story. It starts at school = rails (one path). Deviating from that = open.

*There are no paths. You create them yourself. Your will is your treasure chest. *This is a satire of the trend towards open world games, and my own response to open world games.

*I'd like to increase this feature.

So they scrapped the multiple islands early, and changed the starting town to an island.

Apparently the protagonist and Nemona went to school on an island, and then transferred to a bigger school in the main island where Arven and Penny study. Penny is male in this draft.

The Treasure Hunt was originally summer break.

Interesting that they call Paldea an island when it's obviously a peninsula.

Gym Leader chapter:

You collect Gym Badges, and after that there's a tournament to decide the strongest Trainer in the island.

Final boss is Nemona, who uses a Sub-legendary.

The teachers are Gym Leaders.

Legendary Pokémon chapter:

The cover Legendary's Pokémon's body has broken into five parts, and you must reassemble it.

As you gather its parts, the places you can go to increase. Land, sea, deep sea, sky, and space-time.

Final boss is Arven, who uses a Sub-legendary.

Key characters are mysterious researchers and the version-exclusive Professors.

So they wanted SV to have diving.

Enemy team chapter:

A Sub-legendary has been kidnapped by the enemy team. They have 5 bases and you go defeat them.

The enemy team is stealing treasure (OOPArts). Said OOPArts can change the environment.

Final boss is Penny, who uses a Sub-legendary.

Convergence setup chapter:

This happens parallel to the 3 chapters. There are 18 progress flags that progress the story.

Flag 1: The Eden Project is going forward.

Flag 3: The Eden Project is going rogue.

Flag 5: The "Door to Paradise" in the Center doesn't open.

As you collect Badges, mysterious Pokémon from the past or future start to appear.

You also see mysterious notes that say the four Sub-legendaries are the key, and that the Legendary Adventurer is in the Center.

Convergence chapter:

As you progress the story, A-chan (Nemona), B-kun (Arven), and C-kun (Penny) become your friends.

The protagonist gathers the 4 Sub-legendaries who are the key, and the Door to Paradise at Eden's Center opens.

A place that you can't say for sure is the future or past.

The one who truly planned the Eden Project, the Legendary Adventurer (the real Champion) is inside.

To go in the treasure room inside, you need to defeat the 4 Guardian System Pokémon.

Defeat the Adventurer who hides inside.

True ending.

The 4 Guardian System Pokémon appear in the lighthouses afterwards.

After the true ending, summer break continues.

So I guess Heath was supposed to be the villain?

Sounds like Horizons got its Ancient Adventurer plot from SV's beta.

Wait, when the Professor is defeated, there's part of the dialogue that has the Professor's name with a "?" at the end, implying it's someone else actually talking.

Was the AI Professor possessed by Heath?

so it WAS the Treasures of Ruin locations (but it wasn't meant to BE the Treasures of Ruin)

According to the beta Pokédex, the Guardian System Pokémon are Ear, Eye, Mouth, and Hand, and are listed as "Past Future Pokémon".

Like they are somehow both past and future.

then decided to use PokéChina-imported Pokémon instead

also because tbh they wouldn't be able to use them in an actual PokéChina

These are the Sub-legendaries, not the Guardians. The Pokédex doesn't say what they are besides the fact they are used by our friends.

Strangely, the Pokédex only lists 3 Sub-legendaries. I guess Koraidon/Miraidon is the fourth key?

so the guardians are Legendaries like Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf

Table Mountain ended up being the name of the place where Mew could be found in the Journeys anime

>Mesagoza's japanese name is Table City

>in Horizons, the "Pokémon Paradise" (Laqua) was on top of a mountain, like the original Area Zero was supposed to be

It all comes together

Probably we were originally supposed to catch the Treasures of Ruin to advance the story. I imagine it must have been removed because they ran out of time to make that Door to Paradise thing and replaced it with the lab's elevator.
